Which is where I had first met Julie Flygare....
Now for the flight home....I didn't really feel like using another gogoinflight pass to surf the Internet to pass the time, but this was also the first trip where I packed my Kindle Paperwhite 3G ... so I decided that it was time I finally read her book "Wide Awake and Dreaming".
Where I read things about her driving 75 mph and living to tell about it. Well, I've done 75 mph and lived to tell about it, though that's what I was doing the last time I drove.... in 1997.
Or that she gained 14 pounds in 3 months.... Hmmm, I did 40lbs in 3 months, which was odd, because I was being more active and eating better than I had been in the years before. But, I didn't concern myself that much then. It was the other 30lb spike that annoyed me.
Then she talked of her HH....the repeated ringing of the doorbell, was something I talked about in TAS chats before, possibly with Sharon (sad that she's also gone, so many things I had looked forward to seeing her again about...)
I went to my first NN Conference because Tracy from TAS had kept suggesting it, and that she was originally going as well. So far, I haven't met her yet. But, she had told various people that were at that NN Conference to find me.... one of them was Sharon.
The doorbell thing can be really baffling.... I decided to fix the problem by changing the sound of my doorbell. It only took a few months for the doorbell in my HH to change.
The hooded figure that appears, I first dealt with by changing the locks....to later getting a home security system. Where I had thought about going as far as having motion detectors active when I'm sleeping to make extra sure that my ghost isn't getting past the doors. I may get some convenience ones later, to maybe see if I got up during the night....
I'd gained 15 pounds in three months and no one said a thing. Now I'd lost 30 pounds in five months and everyone was concerned.
For me...it was 40 pounds in three months and no one said a thing, and then another 30 pounds in under two months. But, then I drop 60 pounds in about five months.... I'm now close to where I was at when I first moved to Manhattan.
The previous weight gain had been the year before I left Canada. Some people joked that it was because I was spending so much time with a number of friends that were all pregnant.... I doubt that I'll ever weight that little again, and I don't think I'd want to. I was underweight back then. In fact after the first gain of 40 pounds in 2007, my BMI was 24.9.
Interesting how the book ends with running the Boston Marathon in 2010, and my knowing Julie started with my first NN Conference in 2010.... Not sure which is more likely....a sequel or the book being made into a movie
Hmmm, wonder where my printed copy is.
